Home In The News Huhtamaki breaks ground for expansion

During a Friday morning groundbreaking ceremony, Huhtamaki celebrated a 400,000 square foot expansion of its Paris plant that will add 80 new jobs to its facility on Center Street with an investment of more than $85 million.

The administrative team from North America headquarters near Kansas City, Kansas, joined local workers, plant officials and representatives from the city of Paris and the Paris Economic Development Corp., in the celebration.

Huhtamaki North America President Ann O’Hara joined plant manager Adam Routon, Paris Mayor Reginald Hughes and Paris Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Maureen Hammond in highlighting the plant’s accomplishments and what the expansion means to Paris.

“Our goal is to be the world’s first choice in staple packaging, and this expansion is really leaning into that vision,” O’Hara said to an audience filled with local plant workers. “You and your expertise is why we’re here. This expansion is the company’s fourth in recent years, and that’s the kind of confidence we need to spend this much money.”
